So the lucky winner yesterday was Ashley Pichea. Congrats!
The next three days I will be giving out the same prize so if you like it you’ll have three chances to win it. Read on to find out what it is.
So today I’m going to talk about another thing that I love to do with a good cup of coffee and maybe a little snack….read.
I have always loved reading, even when I was really young, it was always something I did. During times of my life reading was an easy escape from life, I could, and sometimes still do, just completely throw myself into the world created in a book and become completely hooked. I love reading both fiction and non-fiction, I’m not too picky it just has to hook me in the first few chapters for me to stick with it, but once I’m in I usually can’t put it down.
Now, saying that, I honestly haven’t been reading a lot lately. Life gets busy and it’s just not a priority to sit down and read a book everyday or a few days a week. I am really hoping to pick that back up soon because it is something that I really enjoy and is a great stress relief. Below are some of my favorite authors, not anywhere near a complete list, but a few that I enjoy reading:
Ted Dekker – if you are in the Christian circle at all you have probably heard of him. If you haven’t, or if you have, I would highly recommend him. He writes deeply troubling and sometimes hard to read psychological thrillers that show the battle between good and evil and he always finds a way weave a story of redemption in it all. I really like his style of writing, by far one of the better, if not the best, Christian authors.
John Eldridge – I have mentioned him on her before, but he is probably one that has had a larger influence on my life in helping me come to terms with a lot of my own personal issues. He has written The Sacred Romance, Wild at Heart, and Fathered by God. I would recommend any guy out there to read these books to learn more about yourself and any women to read them to learn and understand more about the men in your life.
Rob Bell – OK, this is going to get a lot of “comments” from people, but I love reading anything by Rob. He has a way of taking something that so many find difficult to understand and make it easy to understand and puts it in a whole new light, he’s a story teller. I have “Love Wins” on hold at the library and plan on reading and blogging about it soon and I choose not to judge his theological views on here or anywhere else because it’s not my place and I haven’t read the book yet.
That’s what I have for now…..what about you? Who are you reading right now? Who are your favorite authors and why? Answer one or both of those questions below and you’ll be entered into a random drawing for a $10 Amazon e-gift card. Comment by 10 PM EST and I’ll announce the winner tomorrow morning!
